"TRAINING" FOR TEACHERS: TALK ABOUT RACISM AND HOMOPHOBIA DURING SCIENCE CLASSES
High school science classes are no longer good enough if they stick to periodic tables, gravity, and molecules (items listed in Missouri's learning standards for high school science).
Rockwood teachers are told during professional development presentations that they need to be "Culturally Responsive."
That means:

And..
In order to be good science teachers in Rockwood, they need to:
“…be willing to look at your own beliefs and biases toward others.”
All of this was in materials sent out from professional development presentations this past November.
We know this because an employee leaked the email that included them.
The email came from a Eureka High School principal.
There were also suggestions for math teachers, English language arts teachers (ELA), and, social studies teachers.
