BREAKING: ROCKWOOD LOOKING INTO STEPPING UP POLICE PRESENCE AT TONIGHT'S SCHOOL BOARD MEETING, AFTER THREATS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. TONIGHT IS THE SWEARING IN OF ROCKWOOD'S NEWLY ELECTED SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS.
Threats allegedly made about action at tonight's school board meeting in Rockwood have been posted on Twitter and reported to the FBI and local police.
These are screenshots of tweets that have reportedly now been taken down.
You can see the person says she'll bring the kerosene.
It follows previous tweets/replies not seen here, that talk about their frustration that Izzy Imig and Jessica Clark won the school board election Tuesday night.
One comment says, "what the f*ck, let's f*ck sh*t up."
Another asks when the first BOE meeting is.
Following that, is the comment about bringing the kerosene.
It is not known how serious these threats are, but, both Imig and Clark will be sworn in as new board members tonight, prior to the official meeting.
Rockwood parents who saw the tweets say they also reported them to Rockwood's school board members and the superintendent, Dr. Ricker.
Update:
We're told the district tried to get additional officers to attend the school board meeting but none were available.
The typical presence over the last year or so is 1 or 2 police officers and 5-7 security guards. That's what was there Thursday night.
