UPDATE: MARQUETTE PRINCIPAL SAYS SEX SURVEY WAS NOT A PRANK; IT WAS "POOR JUDGEMENT"
Hankins said the Marquette Messenger emailed the survey, along with the senior superlative survey, that’s sent out every year.
Hankins:
"I do not believe it was a senior prank. The Rice survey is something that is trending and is "popular" at the moment. It was a result of very poor judgement."
Parents have said the link to the survey has been passed around among students at other Rockwood high schools, as well.
When asked to clarify what he meant when he said yesterday that the survey was not appropriately reviewed by adult staff, he said:
"There was knowledge of the survey, but the contents of the survey (and link to the outside survey) was not properly reviewed."
Hankins said yesterday that they disabled the survey and deleted any data (answers).
THE SURVEY
Survey takers are instructed to click on "every item you have done." There are 100 questions about drugs, alcohol and sexual encounters, such as:
#19 "Masturbated while someone else was in the room?"
#100 "Engaged in bestiality?"
#52 "Used methamphetamine, crack cocaine, PCP, horse tranquilizers or heroin?"
Images of the online survey and Hankins' full statement this morning are below.
"We are addressing the situation and are disappointed that something like that was sent out."

MARQUETTE PARENTS APPALLED BY SCHOOL NEWSPAPER QUESTIONS SENT TO STUDENTS ABOUT "BESTIALITY," SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS, AND MASTURBATION
Marquette principal, Dr. Steve Hankins, said the survey was sent to students by theMarquette Messenger, which is the school's student led newspaper. Hankins said it was in addition to the standard senior superlative survey that goes out every year, he said the survey was not approved, he said they have disabled access to it, they have deleted answers to it, and, that they do not agree with the content. (See his full email below.)
There are unconfirmed reports that the questions were shared with younger students, as well.
Those questions, which parents described as rated X, include questions about the number of times students had sex in a 24 hour period, whether they've had a threesome, and whether they've attended an orgy.
Parents of students who received the survey said they were appalled.
The survey, comprised of 100 questions, is not seen on the website for the Marquette Messenger.
It is not known if this was a prank, but the school took it seriously.
