ALLEGED DEATH THREAT SENT TO HOME OF ROCKWOOD SCHOOL BOARD DIRECTOR AFTER CONTROVERSIAL VOTE

UPDATE: This is one of the threatening messages sent to Board of Education Director Izzy Imig.

It is the only threat she says she could show. There’s no direct reference to death.

See why she’s concerned that’s what it is, below.

Imig pointed out the reference to the Husseins. She explained that in Iraq, where she's from, the way "Uday and Qusay" Hussein are referenced means you should be dead.

The postcard reads, in part:

"Izzy, is this where you IZ? Gal, I found two addresses! Either way, I hope you read this, BITCH! You do realize that Iraq was liberated by a diverse American army, so why are you behaving on the Rockwood school board like your pus*y belongs to Uday and Qusay Hussein?"

Imig spoke about the threat on the Marc Cox radio show this morning. You can listen to her interview in the 7:06 segment. Imig said her 13 year old daughter found it in their home mailbox when she got the mail a few weeks ago.

Imig stated the postmark was from out of state (you can see it's from Louisiana) and that local police and the FBI are investigating. Cox and Imig discussed that this was not the only threat against her since this past October.

Since then, news articles and speakers at Rockwood school board meetings have focused on a controversial vote in which Imig participated. The 4-3 vote on October 6th was to not renew 3 no-bid contracts for empowerment programs that benefitted Black students. The vote has largely been characterized as evidence
that the Rockwood school district is racist.

Although the vote was 4-3, Imig has been targeted for spearheading the vote after discovering one of the companies was temporarily not allowed to do business in the state of Missouri. The owner also had multiple warrants for her arrest due to unpaid court fines. That company is Sisters Helping Each Other Reach A Higher Height (SHERAH).

You can read more about the controversial contracts that were rejected here, including the potential conflict of interest with that vendor, on the part of a former Rockwood administrator, who has since resigned.

This comes at a time when Brittany Hogan, the former director of Rockwood's Educational Equity and Diversity department is suing Rockwood for allegedly not protecting her from death threats. Such threats reported to Eureka police were closed as unfounded. Records show Rockwood did hire private security for administrators at that time as a precaution. Presumably, Ms. Hogan was one of them. You can read her full lawsuit here.

Imig expressed gratitude for how seriously the Rockwood school district is taking the threats against her.
