CHESTERFIELD TARGET
The Chesterfield police department posts crime summaries online. The summary from March 10th shows that Imig "failed to scan a vacuum cleaner at self-checkout" on March 4th.

BALLWIN TARGET
Days later, on March 7th, according to this news report, Imig received a citation for an ordinance violation at the Ballwin Target, that was described by Ballwin police as "stealing."

Ballwin police also reportedly have stated that there was "no arrest" in that incident and that the report would not be "open."

It is not clear what they meant by that, but KMOV said it did a records request to find out what may have been taken/what happened and did not immediately receive the information.

News organizations have stated Imig has declined to make any comment. Imig tells us she has consulted an attorney.

DISTRICT SAYS
Rockwood's school board president issued a statement to news media, that reads, in part: "We understand that the news may be concerning to our community. The Board is monitoring the situation and we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring the continued focus on the education and well-being of our students and staff.”

SOCIAL MEDIA SPECULATION
Ballwin police have declined to tell news reporters the details of the Ballwin Target incident and we have seen no explanation for why that is.

With the news of these incidents exploding all over social media, that lack of information has led to speculation and confusion across X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Nextdoor.

BIG WIN
Imig won her seat on Rockwood's school board with a landslide victory in 2022. Voters were attracted to her background, growing up in war-torn Iraq and later serving as an Arabic translator for the U.S. Army.

Imig has been a vocal supporter of the district, and according to her Rockwood biography, she has volunteered and served on multiple committees, serves as Board Advisor for the Babler PTO, and is the booster club president for the Lafayette Lancer girls basketball program.

She made headlines on the board in late 2022 when she discovered that a vendor under contract by the district was not allowed to do business in the state of Missouri.

CANCELED CONTRACTS
That find led to the cancellation of three similar district contracts, and the revelation that former Rockwood administrator Terry Harris was previously on the board of a vendor that had been getting no-compete contracts from the district. Additionally, Rockwood documents showed Harris had a history of not following district purchasing procedures. Harris resigned in December, 2022.

ELECTION?
Before news of the accusations surfaced, Imig attended last week's League of Women Voters Candidate Forum with the two other candidates also running, and stated she is committed to serving on the board for another three year term.

The forum was held March 5th, one day after police say she failed to scan a vacuum cleaner at a Target self-checkout.

No word on how these recent accusations will affect the upcoming election.
Voting is April 8th.
