SECRET MONEY? A QUICK GLANCE AT THE CANDIDATES FOR ROCKWOOD SCHOOL BOARD.
Secret Money?
Many parents don't want yet another teacher union candidate. Rockwood's school board currently has 6 of them (of 7 members on the board). They want balance. They want parent representation.
The two candidates who are endorsed by Rockwood's NEA (National Education Association) know this and tried to distance themselves from the endorsement by saying that they didn't get any donations from the local affiliates of the NEA.
They're making voters think there's no influence peddling.
But, campaign finance records show Missouri's NEA has spent more than a thousand dollars ($1,085.50) to promote both Amy Ryan and Deborah Stine through ads/mailers, etc. (See below.)
Also noteworthy: Amy Ryan promotes her experience with big budgets, but, is the only candidate in the red with her campaign finances.
And, Charles Messmer, at speaking engagements, tells voters he's running because someone told him not to. He has said over and over he's not conservative.
