ROLL OUT: THE EVIDENCE, PART 4. TEACHING THE TEACHERS TO FOCUS ON RACE IN THE CLASSROOM, AND, TO HIDE WHAT THEY'RE DOING FROM PARENTS. TEST SCORES DROP.

Today is day 4; the 4th part of a 108 page document that outlines classroom assignments and books that
illustrate how the beliefs associated with Critical Race Theory are present in our schools.

(Note: the other three parts are below.)

Standardized test scores show these efforts to focus on racism and privilege do not appear to be helping marginalized students; and may, instead, be hurting.

What follows is pages 85-108 and, much of it is on how teachers are affected by what has been going on in Rockwood.

(Note: Links to all 4 parts are just below the table of contents, below.)

We have reported on what has been going on extensively, and, you can see examples of objectionable assignments and books under the tabs Agenda vs Academics, Questionable BooksSex at School

See the screenshots leaked by Rockwood teachers. They say their professional development sessions are objectionable, too.

Many parents, and teachers, say none of this has anything to do with academics.
And, they should. Especially with the drop in standardized test scores.

Note: MAP tests are given to kids in 3rd grade -12th grade.
MAP stands for Missouri's Assessment Program.

Proficient means kids have learned what they're supposed to learn, according to Missouri's learning standards.

Note: Since we published this post, we have added a 5th part to the dossier, to include recent teacher leaks.
THE EVIDENCE PART 5  (Pages 109-122)
THE EVIDENCE PART 4  (Pages 85-108)
THE EVIDENCE PART 3  (Pages 60-84)
THE EVIDENCE PART 2     (Pages 30-59)
THE EVIDENCE PART 1  (Pages 1-29)

Posts for parts 1-3 are below, in their entirety.

All of this has been sent to Missouri legislators, who are working on a bill to address CRT topics in schools.

We intend to also send it to the Attorney General, since he has requested examples that prioritize politics in the classroom.

ROLL OUT: THE EVIDENCE, PART 3. ANTI-POLICE THEMES, BLACK LIVES MATTER TALKING POINTS ASSIGNMENT, AND TEACHER RESOURCES THAT ENCOURAGE THESE TOPICS IN SCHOOL.

"This topic hits home for me! My child comes from a police family. My dad was killed in the line of duty. And, I have a child who hates police. She did not learn this at home."

--Rockwood mom of a middle schooler and a high schooler

"At the highest level, CRT posits that racism is implicitly woven into our laws, including the nature of policing and law enforcement in our communities."
--fairfightinitiative.org

Critical race theory is based, in part, on the idea that our country and its institutions are racist. Law enforcement is one of those institutions.

So, if you're someone who says Critical Race theory is NOT in our schools, consider:
The words aren't. But, the beliefs are.

Parents we talked to don't care what the school district calls it.
They don't like their kids getting anti-police messages at school.

They worry it leads to disrespect for police officers, who already suffer from anti-police rhetoric.

Part 1 and Part 2 in their entirety, are below.

Part 4 hits tomorrow.
All 108 pages have been given to Missouri lawmakers who are working on legislation to address CRT in schools.

ROLL OUT: PART 2. DENIAL. AND, WHAT DO RACIAL PROFILING, POLICE SHOOTINGS, AND GENDER IDENTITY TOPICS HAVE TO DO WITH LANGUAGE ARTS??

OVER A FOUR DAY PERIOD, WE'RE SHOWING THE EVIDENCE WE'VE COLLECTED OVER THE LAST YEAR.

Missouri lawmakers have already viewed this. They are working on legislation related to this topic. You should, view it, too.

THE DENIAL

For months, naysayers, including Rockwood administrators and current school board candidates Deborah Stine and Amy Ryan, have told us Critical Race Theory (CRT) is not taught in schools, K-12.

TAUGHT. Did you catch that?

Of course, it's not.

Students don't sign up for CRT "classes" in Rockwood, like language arts or PE.

So, the denial is technically correct. But, it's misleading. And, dismissive of what actually IS found in class assignments, books, teacher resources and teacher training: the same beliefs that are IN Critical Race Theory.

A resource used by Rockwood teachers. Language arts lesson materials,
such as a 9th grade video and an article, came from this site.

CRT BELIEFS INCLUDE

*The idea that race is not biological; it's made up by white people (a social construct).

*The idea that your race (gender is in there, too) decides whether you are oppressed or privileged.

*The idea that our country and its institutions/laws/judicial system are set up to be racist against people who aren't white. (They also, generally, discriminate against people who aren't male.)

COVER PHOTO IS AN EXAMPLE

For an immediate example of a CRT belief found in Rockwood, look no further than the cover page of this website. It's a page from a book parents found in a kindergarten classroom at Pond Elementary.

Purchase records show Rockwood bought the book per a teacher's request.

The book tells young children that white people made up race; it's not biological.  Sound familiar? It also says white people believe they are smarter, prettier, and, deserve more than everybody else.

WHY, THEN?

Why do so many leaders keep telling us CRT is not in schools?

Honestly, they generally aren't aware of what we found in class lessons and books.

They keep saying the complaints are about what's taught in history class, but, nearly every piece of evidence we found comes from language arts classes. Not history classes.

Below are links so you can see it for yourself and judge for yourself.

Part 3 will be released tomorrow.

ROLL OUT: PART 1. WE HAVE 108 PAGES OF EVIDENCE FROM ROCKWOOD CLASSROOMS  AND RECORDS REQUESTS.

OVER THE NEXT FOUR DAYS, WE'LL BE ROLLING OUT THE EVIDENCE WE'VE COLLECTED OVER THE LAST YEAR.

We've already shared it with Missouri lawmakers. The evidence contradicts Rockwood administrators and school board candidates who say Critical Race Theory isn't in Rockwood.

The evidence contradicts Rockwood administrators and school board candidates who say Critical Race Theory isn't in Rockwood.

Disclaimer:

It's true--you won't find the words Critical Race Theory in Rockwood's curriculum.

Instead, it's the BELIEFS associated with CRT that are woven into daily lessons, books, and, teacher training. Missouri lawmakers have bills in the works to address the beliefs, or tenets, of CRT in schools right now.

When you click the link below, you'll see a table of contents and then then part 1, which is the first 29 pages of our 108 page document:

THE EVIDENCE PART 1

_________

When you vote Tuesday, consider:

School board candidates Amy Ryan and Deborah Stine say there's no CRT in Rockwood.

Candidates Izzy Imig and Jessica Clark have seen otherwise.

In fact, Clark says she decided to run for school board BECAUSE of the CRT she and her family have experienced in our district. Hear from her here: Jessica Clark: Stick to Academics

Judge for yourself.
Then, visit us again tomorrow, for Part 2.
